Speculators trim positions in futures

Gold futures declined Rs82 to Rs65,460 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators reduced their positions. Silver futures fell Rs128 to Rs75,522 per kilogram as participants reduced their bets. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold contracts for April delivery traded lower Rs82 or 0.13 per cent at Rs65,460 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 13,556 lots. Analysts attributed the fall in gold prices to weak global cues. Globally, gold was trading 0.25 per cent lower at $2,156.10 per ounce in New York.

On MCX, silver contracts for May delivery declined Rs128 or 0.17 per cent to Rs75,522 per kg in a business turnover of 26,060 lots. Globally, silver was trading 0.30 per cent lower at $25.31 per ounce in New York.
